Title: The low-rank approximation of fourth-order partial-symmetric and conjugate partial-symmetric tensors

Abstract：In this talk, we present an orthogonal matrix outer product decomposition for the fourth-order conjugate partial-symmetric(CPS) tensor and show that the greedy successive rank-one approximation(SROA) algorithm can recover this decomposition exactly. Based on this matrix decomposition, the CP rank of CPS tensor is bounded by the matrix rank, which can be applied to low-rank tensor completion. Additionally, we give the rank-one equivalence property for the CPS tensor based on the SVD of matrix, which can be applied to the rank-one approximation for CPS tensors. Finally We show the efficiency of model and methods presented in this talk with some numerical experiments.

Speaker Profile：Qingzhi Yang, Professor at the School of Mathematical Sciences, Nankai University, specializes in optimization methods and tensor computation. He has published over 70 academic papers and led or participated in multiple projects funded by the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Ministry of Education's Doctoral Program Fund, and the Tianjin Natural Science Foundation. He has received the Second Prize of Tianjin Natural Science Award (first contributor), the Second Prize of Guangxi Natural Science Award (third contributor), the title of Outstanding Doctoral Thesis Supervisor in Tianjin, and the honorary title of “Tianshan Scholar” Distinguished Professor in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region. He currently serves as an editorial board member for the Journal of the Operations Research Society of China and the Journal of Computational Mathematics in Higher Education Institutions, and as the Supervisor of the Tianjin Mathematical Society. Previously served as editorial board member of Computational Mathematics, Head of the Department of Scientific and Engineering Computing at Nankai University's School of Mathematics, President of the Tianjin Society for Computational Mathematics, Executive Council Member of the Chinese Society for Computational Mathematics, and Executive Council Member of the Mathematical Programming Branch of the Chinese Operations Research Society.
