Abstract:In this talk, we establish the local well-posedness of a free boundary problem for a compressible elastodynamic system in Eulerian coordinates. We show that the free interface is stabilized by the non-collinearity condition, which is derived from its evolution equation. Furthermore, we obtain energy estimates that are uniform with respect to the sound speed, which allows us to justify the incompressible limit of the solutions.
Speaker Profile:Jingchi Huang is an associate professor in the School of Mathematics at Sun Yat-sen University. He received his Ph.D. from the Institute of Mathematics at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in 2013. From 2013 to 2015, he served as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Mathematics at Pennsylvania State University, and has been with Sun Yat-sen University since 2015. His research focuses on systems of fluid dynamics equations, particularly the well-posedness and long-time behavior of the incompressible and compressible Navier-Stokes equations. He has published numerous academic papers in international journals such as Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal., J. Math. Pures Appl., and J. Funct. Anal.
