讲座题目：Sparsity and Its Applications in Imaging

内容概述：With the advances in sensor technology, data has become ubiquitous. To make sense of data we have to solve higher and higher dimensional problems that may seem intractable. However, many high-dimensional problems have solutions that live in low-dimensional spaces. Sparsity is a way to exploit the low-dimensional structure of the solutions to obtain feasible solutions for high-dimensional problems. In this talk, we will see how sparsity can be applied to facilitate the solutions of  some imaging problems, including single-molecule localization microscopy and ground-based astronomy.

主讲人简介：陈汉夫教授(陳漢夫, CHAN Hon Fu Raymond) 于1980年在香港中文大学获得学士学位, 1985年于美国纽约大学科朗数学研究所获得博士学位。现为香港城市大学数学系讲座教授、香港城市大学副校长。陈教授长期从事数值代数与图像处理等方面的研究, 是著名计算数学专家。陈教授于1989获得Leslie Fox数值分析奖; 1997年获得冯康科学计算奖; 1998年获得晨兴数学奖等奖项。陈教授于2013年当选美国工业与应用数学学会 (SIAM) 会士; 2016年当选世界华人数学家联盟(ICCM)副主席; 2021年当选美国数学学会(AMS) 会士; 2022年当选中国工业与应用数学学会(CSIAM) 会士。现担任Asia Journal of Mathematics、Advances in Computational Mathematics、Journal of Mathematical Imaging and Vision、Journal of Scientific Computing 等国内外期刊编委。
