At the beginning of the new semester, on March 7, a delegation from the School of Mathematical Sciences, including Party Secretary Wang Yu, Dean, Deputy Party Secretary Ye Xing, and student counselors, visited the Fenghuai undergraduate dormitory and the Penglai graduate dormitory. They engaged with students from various year groups, discussing topics such as academic development, life safety, and mental health.

In the Fenghuai undergraduate dormitory, Secretary Wang Yu inquired in detail about students' daily routines, dietary habits, and course schedules. Considering the seasonal prevalence of illnesses in spring, she reminded students to maintain a balanced diet and regular sleep schedule. She also conducted an on-site inspection of electrical safety. Addressing issues such as overloaded power strips, she emphasized the importance of 'cutting off power when leaving' with relevant case examples. Upon seeing students’ exercise logs and photos of club activities, the dean encouraged students to balance work and rest, make good use of the school's sports facilities, and strengthen their physical health. Deputy Secretary Ye Xing advised lower-year students to solidify their foundations and upper-year students to plan their careers effectively. In the Penglai graduate dormitory, discussions focused on research progress and academic life. The dean inquired about students' research projects, faculty guidance, and experiences in joint training programs, encouraging interdisciplinary communication among roommates. The student counselors also gathered feedback on academic resource sharing and career guidance, and provided information on research positions and corporate recruitment opportunities, tailored to the needs of graduating students.

This dormitory visit addressed common concerns such as safety education, academic planning, and mental well-being while also providing targeted guidance based on the differing needs of undergraduate and graduate students. Students expressed that the visit helped them clarify their goals for the new semester. "The academic planning advice from counselors, based on our personal development records, was particularly insightful," one student noted. Another commented, "The stress management techniques from the mental health lecture were really practical, and I now feel more confident in facing academic challenges." The School of Mathematical Sciences will continue its regular dormitory visit program to support students' growth and success.
