Recently, the National Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC) announced the first batch of funding results for the year 2025. The School of Mathematics at Shenzhen University achieved a historic breakthrough in its application efforts. According to statistics, the School submitted 56 projects in the first batch of centralized applications this year, with 17 projects approved (exceeding the previous historical high of 11 projects set in 2017). The approval rate reached 30.36%, with total funding amounting to 8.04 million yuan. The approved projects include: 1 Excellent Young Scientist Fund (Category B), 8 General Program projects, and 8 Youth Science Fund (Category C) projects. Compared with previous years, the School has demonstrated sustained and steady growth in NSFC project applications: the average annual number of approved projects over the past three years was 9. In 2025, the number of approved projects surged to 17, surpassing the average of recent years and setting a new historical record. Notably, the approval rate for 2025 rose to 30.36%, a significant increase from 12.96% in 2024. This achievement reflects the School’s continuous optimization in project quality control and application organization. Moreover, the School has secured the National Natural Science Foundation Youth Program (Category B) for four consecutive years, highlighting its strong potential in supporting young scientific researchers and sustainable development.
