On August 31, 2025, with a gentle breeze blowing across the campus, Shenzhen University welcomed the new students of the School of Mathematical Sciences, Class of 2025. In the early morning, volunteers from the School took their positions at various reception points. With patient and detailed explanations, warm and thoughtful assistance, they provided “one-stop” services including luggage handling, campus guidance, and answering questions. Their efforts allowed the new students to feel the warmth of home upon their arrival at Shenzhen University.
The welcoming scene was lively and heartwarming. Deputy Party Secretary of the School, Ye Xing, together with counselors Sun Yichong, Zhong Xiaoshan, and Fang Zijia, joined volunteers at the third-floor reception point of the Huiwen Building to assist with the registration process. At the site, the faculty engaged in cordial conversations with the freshmen and their parents, attentively learning about their first impressions, genuine needs, and expectations for the future. Their warm words and sincere care created an atmosphere of harmony and goodwill.



In the dormitory area, volunteers remained stationed at key points, helping freshmen move luggage, introducing the dormitory environment, and sharing personal experiences of campus life. Their thoughtful service won unanimous praise from students and parents alike. With their careful assistance, the freshmen of 2025 smoothly transitioned from being “newcomers” to feeling “at home.”




At the same time, Dean and Party Secretary Wang Yu, accompanied by Deputy Secretary Ye Xing and counselors, visited the dormitories to meet the freshmen. The Dean kindly inquired about their accommodations, where they came from, and how they were adapting to university life and their new living environment. The Dean reminded everyone to plan their time in advance, to prioritize learning as the central task of university, and to take professional courses seriously, setting further academic advancement as their goal. In addition, the Dean and Secretary encouraged students to pay attention to their health, strengthen physical exercise, and develop good living habits. The accompanying counselors also engaged warmly with the freshmen, introducing important matters of study and daily life while patiently addressing their questions.
