On November 19, 2025, Shenzhen University successfully hosted the Third Undergraduate Academic Symposium and the Launch Ceremony for the Innovative Experimental Zone for Cultivating Elite Talent in Mathematics at its Yuehai Campus. Experts and scholars from sister mathematics departments at Zhejiang University, Beijing Jiaotong University, Sichuan University, Central South University, Sun Yat-sen University, South China Normal University, Nanchang University, Yunnan Normal University, and other institutions gathered to explore new pathways for cultivating top-tier talent in mathematics, establish new platforms for undergraduate academic exchange, and observe and provide guidance during the college's undergraduate academic symposium. The conference was chaired by Han Yu, Vice Dean of the College.

At the opening ceremony, the Dean of the School extended a warm welcome to the attending experts and scholars. He emphasized that the School of Mathematical Sciences at Shenzhen University places high importance on cultivating talent in the field of mathematics, consistently pursuing proactive exploration and initiative. He expressed hope that through this symposium, the experts would collectively advance the innovative development of cultivating top-tier talent in mathematics.

During the discussion session on establishing innovative pilot zones for cultivating top-tier talent in mathematics, Professor Chen Zhibing delivered a thematic presentation titled “Cultivating Top-Tier Mathematical Talent at Shenzhen University.” He focused on the development and teaching practices of the School's Mathematics and Applied Mathematics (Excellence Program), while also outlining the School's achievements in talent cultivation and future development strategies. Following the presentation, attending experts and scholars shared their respective institutions' initiatives for nurturing top-tier mathematical talent. The participating experts unanimously agreed that this symposium was highly meaningful, expressing hope for its continuation and anticipation of its promotion among universities nationwide.



During the undergraduate academic seminar session, students presented their preliminary research findings based on their coursework and research interests. Faculty members Pan Binbin, Han Yong, and Zeng Jinsong provided feedback on the students' academic presentations.
