Abstract:  

Algebra serves as a foundation of mathematics and a tool for interdisciplinary research. This talk will briefly introduce key associative algebras (such as quaternions) and non-associative algebras (such as octonions), with a focus on various non-associative algebraic structures related to Lie algebras.  

Speaker Profile:  

Yun Gao is a professor at York University, Canada, and a Humboldt Scholar. His main research interests include the structure and representation theory of higher-dimensional affine Lie algebras and related algebraic systems.
