Speaker:Professor Lianhua Ning(Nanjing Normal University)
Time:9:00-10:00, Dec.6, 2025
Location:Huiwen Building H1-102
Abstract:Mathematics instructional design must not only adhere to the fundamental principles of general instructional design but, more importantly, develop targeted and actionable teaching pathways based on the unique learning characteristics of mathematics and specific content requirements, thereby highlighting the intrinsic value of mathematical learning. Design efforts should focus on the following areas: cultivating core competencies, implementing the “Three Proficiencies” philosophy, deepening inquiry-based activities, and leveraging digital and intelligent technologies.
Speaker Profile:Lianhua Ning , Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the School of Mathematical Sciences, Nanjing Normal University. Serves as Director of the Mathematics Education Research Office at Nanjing Normal University, Editor-in-Chief of Mathematics Friend magazine, Researcher at the National Key Base for Mathematics Textbooks in Primary, Secondary, and Higher Education, Council Member of the Chinese Mathematical Society, Vice Chair of the Jiangsu Provincial Committee for Mathematics Education, and Secretary-General of the Nanjing Mathematical Society. Primary research areas: fundamental theories of mathematics education, professional development of mathematics teachers, and mathematics assessment. Authored six monographs including Theory of Inquiry-Based Learning in Mathematics (Higher Education Press); published over 100 papers in journals such as Curriculum, Textbooks, and Teaching Methods, Educational Research and Experiment, Journal of Mathematics Education, and Journal of Mathematics Education; led eight national and provincial-level research projects.
Faculty and students are welcome to attend!
