报告内容:It has recently been reported that adjustment of nonconfounding covariates in case-control genetic association analyses may lead to decreased power when the phenotype is rare. This observation contrasts a well-known result for clinical trials where adjustment of baseline variables always leads to increased power for testing randomized treatment effects. In this talk, I will introduce a unified solution that guarantees increased power through covariate adjustment regardless of whether the phenotype is rare or common, which exploits external phenotype prevalence data through a profile likelihood function. Both simulation studies and real data analyses demonstrate the superiority of the proposed method.
报告人简历:高金城,中山大学数学学院副教授,主要从事流体力学相关方程的理论与应用研究,在时间衰减估计、适定性和粘性消失极限方程取得了一些好的成果,相关论文发表在Calc. Var. Partial Differential Equations,Ann. Inst. H. Poincaré C Anal. Non Linéaire, Phys. D,J. Differential Equations等杂志上。先后主持和参与了国家科技部重点研发青年科学家项目、国家自然科学基金青年项目、国家博士后基金项目、广东省基金项目和广州市项目。欢迎师生参加!
