School of Mathematical Sciences Visits Nanshan Foreign Languages School (Group) Senior High School

On the morning of March 20, 2025, the Dean of the School of Mathematical Sciences of Shenzhen University led a delegation to Nanshan Foreign Languages School (Group) Senior High School for a special career development and industry-academia collaboration initiative. The visit aimed to strengthen the connection between higher education and basic education, broaden graduate employment channels, integrate educational theory with teaching practice, and establish a collaborative platform for cultivating outstanding educators and enhancing student career development. Participants included Liang Ming, Party Committee Secretary of Nanshan Foreign Languages School Group; Hu Xunyun, Vice Principal of the Senior High School; Zhang Guoming, Director of Academic Affairs; the Dean of Shenzhen University’s School of Mathematical Sciences; Ye Xing, Deputy Party Secretary; Sun Zongliang, Head of the Department of Pure Mathematics; and Tian Lifan, Career Development Counselor.

During the symposium, Secretary Liang Ming extended a warm welcome to the delegation and elaborated on the school’s educational philosophy, achievements in mathematics curriculum development, and future plans. He proposed establishing a joint internship base to facilitate resource sharing between higher education and basic institutions. The Dean of Shenzhen University’s School of Mathematical Sciences highlighted the college’s disciplinary strengths, student quality, and employment outcomes, emphasizing potential collaborations in educational internships, pedagogical research, and career placement. Deputy Party Secretary Ye Xing discussed student training programs and employment trends, suggesting inter-school partnerships through joint Party-building activities, alumni resource sharing, and mathematics culture promotion initiatives. Associate Professor Sun Zongliang introduced the Mathematics and Applied Mathematics Excellence Program for nurturing top-tier innovators and the practical training framework for the Mathematics and Applied Mathematics (teacher) specialization.

Following the discussions, Secretary Liang guided the delegation on a tour of the school’s teaching facilities, practical training spaces, and campus environment. Both parties reached consensus on collaborative projects such as the “Elite Talent Program” Summer Camp, Academician Lecture Series, Mathematical Puzzle Exhibition, and Named Innovation Classes. They proposed building an integrated education ecosystem through mentorship programs, joint research projects, and academic forums. Secretary Liang praised Shenzhen University’s mathematical sciences expertise and pledged full support for establishing internship bases, joint laboratories, and academic exchange platforms.

This visit laid a solid foundation for future collaboration. Moving forward, the School of Mathematical Sciences and Nanshan Foreign Languages School (Group) Senior High School will deepen cooperation in talent cultivation, scientific research, and community engagement, pioneering a “university-secondary school” collaborative model to advance Shenzhen’s educational modernization.
