On April 2, 2025, the School of Mathematical Sciences of Shenzhen University successfully hosted Alumni Spring Tea Gathering. The event brought together the Dean of the School, Party Secretary Wang Yu, Deputy Party Secretary Ye Xing, alumni liaison officers, counselors for graduating grade and career guidance, as well as Huang Shun, President of the Alumni Association, and other outstanding alumni. Attendees reunited to cherish old friendships and collaborate on strategies for the school's future development. The gathering centered on in-depth discussions about school construction, talent cultivation, employment promotion, and alumni cooperation, rallying shared visions and injecting new momentum into the school's high-quality development.

At the start of the meeting, the Dean warmly welcomed the alumni on behalf of the school and detailed its recent achievements. He emphasized that the School of Mathematical Sciences has always adhered to the educational philosophy of “solid foundations, innovation, and strong practical skills,” achieving remarkable progress in disciplinary construction, scientific research, and faculty development. The Dean also highlighted the school’s commitment to deepening educational reforms, promoting industry-academia-research integration, and expressed hope to explore new talent cultivation paths hand-in-hand with alumni.

Deputy Party Secretary Ye Xing addressed the current employment landscape, sharing the school’s graduate employment trends, characteristics, and challenges in recent years. He noted that due to economic conditions and industry transformations, some students face difficulties in career planning and job matching. While the school has mobilized all resources and implemented various strategies, it urgently needs more job opportunities, internships, career guidance, and university-enterprise partnerships from employers. He urged alumni to leverage their resources to build platforms, helping younger students expand employment channels and achieve high-quality employment.

Huang Shun, President of the Alumni Association, first expressed sincere gratitude to the school leaders, teachers, and fellow alumni present. In his speech, President Huang emotionally stated that although alumni have graduated, their hearts remain closely linked to the school, continuously following its development. He also voiced the collective desire of alumni to support the school’s employment efforts through concrete actions. Subsequently, several alumni shared industry insights, proposing collaborative ideas such as developing joint university-enterprise courses and building shared internship bases. Some alumni even pledged to prioritize offering internships to school students and promote resource sharing and mutual benefit between enterprises and the school.

In the closing remarks, Party Secretary Wang Yu expressed heartfelt thanks for the alumni’s dedication to their alma mater and their practical suggestions. She emphasized that alumni are a precious asset and vital support for the school’s development. In the future, the school will further enhance alumni communication platforms, deepen cooperation mechanisms, and integrate alumni efforts with school construction. She called on all alumni to walk hand-in-hand with the school, jointly scripting a new chapter of high-quality development for the School of Mathematical Sciences.

This Spring Tea Gathering not only strengthened the emotional bond between alumni and the school but also explored collaborative directions and pathways, significantly advancing the school’s employment initiatives. Taking this event as a milestone, the school will continue to rally alumni strength, enrich its educational mission, and boost student entrepreneurship and employment, cultivating more mathematical talents to serve national strategies and local development.
