School of Mathematical Sciences Visits the High School Affiliated to Shenzhen University

On the morning of April 15, the Dean of School of Mathematical Sciences of Shenzhen University led a delegation to visit The High School Affiliated to Shenzhen University (SZUHS). The visit was warmly received by SZUHS, and both sides held in-depth exchanges on issues such as educational internships and employment cooperation for mathematics normal students. Participants included Bian Haifeng (Vice Principal, acting in charge), Chen Meiying (Vice Principal), Gao Jie (Head of the Mathematics Teaching and Research Group), Wu Xiao (Director of the Publicity and Liaison Office) from SZUHS, as well as the Dean of School of Mathematical Sciences of Shenzhen University, Ye Xing (Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee), Sun Zongliang (Director of the Basic Mathematics Department), Liu Qiang (Associate Professor of the Applied Mathematics Department), and Tian Lifan (Employment Counselor).

Vice Principal Bian Haifeng extended a warm welcome to the delegation and introduced SZUHS's educational characteristics and achievements in mathematics teaching and research. He emphasized the need to cultivate students' core mathematical competencies in basic education and shared the school's effective measures to enhance students' mathematical thinking and innovation capabilities. The Dean of the School of Mathematical Sciences introduced the college's global mathematics discipline ranking, the cultivation system for top basic mathematics talents, and the professional capabilities of normal students. He highlighted the potential for deepening cooperation in educational internships, teaching research, and employment docking to jointly promote the high-quality development of Shenzhen's basic education. Deputy Secretary Ye Xing shared the college's student cultivation quality, employment status, alumni network, and annual "Mathematics Culture Month" activities, proposing strengthened cooperation in employment and internships through joint Party-building, alumni resource sharing, and mathematics culture activities in schools. Vice Principal Chen Meiying proposed collaborating on academic lectures, inviting the Dean to deliver cutting-edge mathematics talks for high school students to expand their academic horizons by showcasing mathematics applications in AI, fintech, and other fields. Director Sun Zongliang introduced the internship practices of the Mathematics and Applied Mathematics (Normal) program. Associate Professor Liu Qiang suggested introducing university mathematical modeling resources into SZUHS's elective courses to cultivate students' innovative problem-solving abilities. The two sides initially agreed on a framework for co-establishing an internship base and plan to advance cooperation in curriculum co-construction, research projects, and integrated cultivation of top talents.

This visit opened a new phase of collaborative development between higher and basic education. With the co-construction of a practical teaching platform as a core initiative, both sides will collaborate comprehensively in innovative education mechanisms, shared teaching resources, and educational ecosystem building, aiming to create an integrated mathematics education chain across primary, secondary, and tertiary levels and boost Shenzhen's educational modernization.
