Biography: Wang Yao, a Doctor of Science from Jilin University, a Post - doctor at Nankai University, and a senior visiting scholar at Beijing Normal University. He was the former Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Vice - President (at the principal level) of Nanjing University of Information Science and Technology, a second - level professor, and a doctoral supervisor. Abstract: As teachers, carrying forward and practicing the spirit of educators should be implemented in the classroom. President Xi Jinping emphasized that teachers should not only be teachers who impart textbook knowledge, but also become "great teachers" who shape students' character, conduct and taste. Aiming at the five questions of "why, where, what, how, and what to do" that teachers are generally confused about in ideological and political education in courses, this report deeply expounds the connotation, extension and important significance of the concept of ideological and political education in courses. It points out that ideological and political education in courses is a necessary part of building a new round of first - class courses and majors, a necessary way to achieve the trinity teaching goal of "knowledge transfer, ability cultivation and value shaping" in the classroom, an inevitable standard for improving the "two - nature and one - degree" of teaching and creating excellent courses, an effective way to cultivate top - notch innovative talents, and a necessary preparation for high - quality completion of education and teaching assessment.
