Assistant Professor Jiangzhou Wang Receives Funding from the “Shenzhen Outstanding Science and Technology Innovation Talent Development Program”

Recently, the Shenzhen Municipal Science and Technology Innovation Bureau issued a notice regarding the approval and funding of Youth Projects under the 2025 Shenzhen Natural Science Foundation Program. The project titled “Statistical Modeling and Community Detection of Complex Multilayer (Dynamic) Network Data,” proposed by Assistant Professor and Associate Researcher Jiangzhou Wang of our institute, has received funding from the Shenzhen Outstanding Science and Technology Innovation Talent Cultivation Program (Outstanding Youth Basic Research).

The Shenzhen Outstanding Science and Technology Innovation Talent Cultivation Program is one of Shenzhen’s high-level talent support initiatives. It aims to motivate and cultivate outstanding young science and technology talents in Shenzhen, guide them in conducting innovative research, promote scientific and technological innovation, and enable them to contribute their wisdom and strength to the commercialization of research outcomes. The Shenzhen Science and Technology Innovation Commission selects candidates from various fields through multiple channels. Through a series of policy supports, it builds a solid platform for their scientific careers, helping them grow, develop, and thrive rapidly, thereby supplying the nation with a reserve force of young talent.



Personal Profile:

Jiangzhou Wang is an Assistant Professor and Associate Researcher in the Department of Statistics and Data Science at the School of Mathematical Sciences, Shenzhen University. His primary research interests include statistical analysis of large-scale network data, multiple testing for large-scale dependent data, and interdisciplinary research at the intersection of statistics with machine learning and deep learning. He has published numerous SCI-indexed research papers in international journals in statistics and related fields, including JASA, JMLR, JCGS, JMVA, CSDA, Computational Statistics, and STAT. He has led numerous research projects, including a Youth Project from the National Natural Science Foundation of China, a General Project from the Guangdong Provincial Natural Science Foundation, a General Project and a Special Funding (Mid-Term) Project from the China Postdoctoral Science Foundation, a Young Faculty Research Start-up Project at Shenzhen University, and a Shenzhen Municipal “High-End, Precision, and Cutting-Edge” Research Start-up Project. He was selected for Position C under Shenzhen’s “Pengcheng Peacock Plan.” He has been invited on multiple occasions to present at international academic conferences such as ICSA and serves as a reviewer for international journals including JMLR, AOAS, Statistica Sinica, JCGS, EJS, CSDA, and SII.
